Paint Removal in San Francisco & the Bay Area
Strip layers of paint from concrete, steel, brick and wood without chemicals or grinding.
Multiple coats of paint, elastomeric, epoxy and old enamel all come off in a single blasting pass. Unlike chemical strippers there's no dwell time, no neutralizing and no hazardous slurry to haul away.
The most common call we get is painted concrete — garage floors, warehouse floors, patios and pool decks — where a new coating has to bond to bare concrete. The second most common is old paint on steel railings, gates and structural beams.
On brick and wood we start at the lowest pressure that lifts the coating. If the coating can't come off without damaging the substrate, we'll tell you before we start.
Good for
- Garage and warehouse floors
- Railings, gates, fences and beams
- Exterior stucco and block walls
- Wood decks and siding (case by case)
How the job goes
- Confirm coating type and thickness
- Contain and protect surroundings
- Blast to bare substrate
- Rinse and clean; haul away spent media
Questions about paint removal
Can you remove paint from brick?
Usually, yes — with soft media at low pressure. The exception is silicone-based paint, which can't be removed without damaging the brick face; we'll tell you if that's what you have.
Do you test for lead paint?
If a building predates 1978 we recommend a lead test before work begins. See our Lead Paint service for how we handle positive results.
